Breakfast for You
The heavy morning sun streams through the high windows of the cabin, casting long, golden bars of light across the tangled sheets. You stir, your skin still holding the phantom warmth of the mountain breeze and the intense, uninhibited intimacy shared with Lauren under the star-swept sky last night. You reach across the bed, your hand meeting empty, cooled fabric.
Lauren is already gone.
You sit up, tracking the quiet stillness of the cabin. The bathroom door hangs open, the air devoid of steam. Smiling slightly as you recall her radiant, bare-skinned confidence from yesterday’s pool breakthrough and dinner, you slide out of bed. You pull on a casual pair of shorts and a light shirt, step out onto the porch, and follow the scent of fresh-brewed coffee drifting down from the main lodge.
As you ascend the steps to the main cabin’s outdoor patio, the soft murmur of laughter carries over the morning breeze.
Stepping out onto the stone deck, the scene stops you in your tracks. Bathed in the bright, unfiltered July sunlight, Elena, Chloe, and Lauren are seated around the patio table, completely unclad and relaxed. A platter of fresh pastries and a steaming carafe of coffee sit between them. Lauren, holding a ceramic mug close to her bare chest, is laughing freely at something Chloe just said, her skin glowing a healthy, sun-kissed pink. There is no hesitation in her posture today; yesterday’s breakthrough has clearly settled into an effortless new reality.
At the sound of your footsteps, all three pairs of eyes turn to you.
Elena leans back in her dark wood chair, her long, toned, flawlessly tanned legs stretching out comfortably as a slow, knowing smile spreads across her face. Chloe leans forward, her petite, busty frame completely unbothered by the morning air as her eyes spark with a wicked, playful amusement.
“Well, look who finally decided to the living,” Chloe calls out, her voice dripping with teasing affection.
Lauren looks up at you, her blue eyes bright, holding a mixture of deep affection and a newly discovered, thrilling confidence. She doesn’t reach for a towel or try to cover herself. Instead, she gestures to the empty chair beside her, her bare shoulder shifting gracefully. “Good morning, handsome. We saved you some coffee and a couple of bear claws.”
Elena sips her tea, her gaze drifting deliberately down to your fully dressed frame, then back up to your eyes with a challenging, hospitable tilt of her head. “We were just talking about how perfect the mountain ridge feels today, Mark.”
As you pour yourself a cup, Lauren leans back, gesturing toward the rugged trail that winds up from the resort. “We were actually just talking about Elena and Chloe wanting to hike up to the mountain peak this morning before the midday heat gets too intense. I told them that you’re the official ridge guide for that trail.”
Chloe grins, her gaze drifting deliberately down to your fully dressed frame, then back up to your eyes with a playful glint. “We’re hoping to experience the absolute highest vantage point of the ridge, Mark. But we’re wondering what the official resort dress code is for a guided nature trek.”
