What's next?
They had...
They had survived, touchdown declared. The signal left the ship, signalling earth to send the next 1000 engers to arrive in another 31 years give or take.
Once the ship had cooled, it was time to open the door to their new home. Welcome to Haven.
They 3 of them stepped out into their new world together. Haven was around 3 times the size of Earth, around 40% was taken up by vast Oceans and the rest was mainly lush green plains, forests and mountains. You see when humans found Haven back in the 1960's the US government decided to start this programme to terraform this new planet. It wasn't always this full of life, plenty of experimental rockets and such had been flown into the planet prior to their arrival, filled with seeds, plants, chemicals that speed up processes the form the building blocks of life etc. It was now apparent that they had worked at least, it looked thriving!
The grass under their feet looked just like the grass used to on Earth. The water should be clean and drinkable right from the Lakes, and with no Apex predators to worry about, life should be a breeze compared to back on Earth where smog had engulfed any fresh air.
Terry had warned Emma not to wonder too far from their landing pod as he and the captain worked to unload precious cargo from the hold. I think Emma had forgotten that it was their duty to start a civilisation and build something for the next engers when they arrive, which wasn't a surprised based on the fact that she relied almost fully on her now deceased Mother Gina to everything important. That could be an issue.
The one thing she did was something they had every recruit repeat many times daily "Our duty is to colonise, populate and build prosperity for the next generation that follows".
Emma laid in the tall grass as the world went by, when suddenly she felt different. Was she aroused? She shook it off, she couldn't be, what was there to be aroused about. It must have been the blades of grass brushing against her skin, after all being touched wasn't something she'd experienced a lot of being in Cryo for the past 31 years. But the urge grew stronger.
She sat up, brushing the grass through her hands playfully, enjoying the peace before the work ahead that was sure to come. After all, they didn't even have a home to live in yet. She made her way back to the ship after being called in by her father and the Captain.
